DAS Auto & Truck – Hitch Installation & Trailer Supply Store, located in Yorktown
Heights NY, on the border of Westchester and Putnam county.
Towing is serious business, and the right hitch installation makes all the difference between a safe trip and a dangerous one. We install trailer hitches on cars, trucks, SUVs, and minivans and we do it right — proper mounting to the frame, correct wiring integration, and a full test before you pull out of the lot. We only install hitches that meet your vehicle’s manufacturer-rated towing capacity, so you’re never guessing what your setup can actually handle.
Our trailer supply store carries a full selection of towing hardware from trusted brands including Reese, Curt, Draw-Tite, B&W, GenY, and Andersen Hitch. Whether you need a simple Class I hitch for a small SUV or a heavy-duty Class V receiver for a diesel pickup hauling equipment, we stock the right receiver, ball mount, hitch ball, and wiring harness to complete the job. We also carry weight distribution systems, sway control bars, trailer locks, and safety chains — everything you need to tow confidently whether you’re heading to Candlewood Lake for the weekend or moving equipment around Putnam County for work.
Wiring is where a lot of hitch installs go wrong. We run a clean, vehicle-specific harness that integrates with your factory trailer lighting circuit — no spliced wires, no brittle T-connectors that fail after one winter. We test brake lights, turn signals, and running lights before you drive off, because a wiring issue at highway speed is not where you want to discover a problem.
A contractor from Mahopac came in needing hitches installed on three work trucks before the start of a big landscaping project in Cortlandt. We had all three trucks done in a single afternoon — hitches mounted, wired, and tested. He called a few days later to say everything performed perfectly on the first haul and asked us to get started on a fourth vehicle. That’s the kind of job we’re set up to handle, whether it’s one personal vehicle or a whole fleet.
